Best weekend all year. *ahem*
Friday
- wait in pre-registration line for ~2.5 hours
- give no fucks because at AN waiting in line is made fun by the fact that you can act like an obnoxious weeb and get away with it
- fangirling wears off after ~30 minutes
- get told we have to return at 9 AM, shitstorm breaks out, everyone gets in, fuck the police
- get inside
- visit Ocean because obviously I would do that first huehuehue
- buy super sugoi daysoo prints and hang out for a few hours
- party for a little bit
Saturday
- hang out with random people by myself for about an hour
- Becky shows up, go hang out and be awesome
- buy more cool stuff because holy shit amazing merchandise
- not spend all my money (successkid.jpg)
- head over to Tales Of cosplay photoshoot, meet awesome girl who is awesome
endure the agonizing flames of Hellgo to the Homestuck photo shoot with Rachel- pick up my sister
- PROCEED TO FUCKING RAVE FOR TWO AND A HALF HOURS
Which was awesome. I have found my calling. Not, like, glowsticks-and-LSD raving, but the other raving that is not intimidating and illegal. Also there was this crazy type of dance that you learn quickly and is fun. And also pelvic thrusting. Seriously. Lots of pelvic thrusting. Meeting people who become attracted to my natural impressive ability to thrust my hips forward to J-Rave is a fun experience indeed.
AND! They played two of my favourite Madeon songs! IN A ROW! HNNNNN
- meet other-Rachel and Agi, specifically Agi who is cool and spicy, and fail to cause a deadly nuclear explosion by meeting her
- rave more
- head out with everyone to try and get into a Waterbending/Firebending panel
- stop for pizza (good pizza)
- fail to get into panel because of how ridiculously packed it was
- take bus back, chill in hotel, start a small public dance party
- go back to Artist’s Alley/Dealer’s Room, buy a few more things, happyhappyfuntimes
- hang outside until 10 PM
- go home and die of exhaustion
Sunday
- attempt to line up for Akira Sasanuma/Yuu Asakawa autographs, line is long, abort mission, Becky ends up going hnnng so jealous
- FUCKING MEET CHRISTIAN POTENZA (Jude from 6teen) who is honestly such a cool guy. It was aaaaaawesome.
- walk around and talk to people randomly in a group
- more happyhappyfuntimes
advance to the seventh circle of the InfernoHomestuck photo shoot again- go to the Doubletree and eat onigiri and yakitori like weebs because holy shit it’s actually really good
- relaaaaaaaaaaaax~
- Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya nostalgiafest
- watch everything die down and reflect on the goodness of this year’s con
- everyone leaves
- meet up with a meme cosplay group, get to touch balloon mammies, make some temporary bros, life is good
Okay, so I have to say that was probably the best AN I’ve been to yet. I know it might seem lame that the coolest thing I do all year is go there, but fuck you it was awesome. And.. and… so much awesome cosplay! And so many awesome people! Who knew there were this many awesome people in this city? It’s always so much fun. I didn’t even blow all my money! I still have a lot left over! Yaaaay.
Good show, good show!

Quote of the Day: “I’m not transgender. I. Am. A. Boy,” says 5-year-old Tyler, who born a girl was designated female at birth. He first insisted he was a boy at the age of 2, and eventually was diagnosed with gender identity disorder.
Now, his parents allow him to present himself as a boy, and Tyler’s mom doesn’t think he’s going through a phase (though doctors say many children with gender identity disorder eventually switch back to their biological gender). “I just want my child to be happy,” she says.
Don’t miss the video and pic gallery that help tell Tyler’s story.
